KL Tower Guide: Sky Deck & Sky Box Tips

Alongside the iconic Twin Towers, KL Tower is a must-see landmark in Kuala Lumpur. Recently, my husband, a visiting friend, and I decided to explore this towering marvel. For example, we experienced panoramic city views and step-out glass platforms. Consequently, we put together this complete guide to help you make the most of your KL Tower visit!

Planning Your Visit

Tickets and Transport to KL Tower

Reaching KL Tower can be slightly tricky because direct public transport is limited. For instance, taking a cab or rideshare is your best option unless you want a long uphill walk.

Furthermore, we checked ticket prices online before going. We found great deals on Klook for around RM 80–90 per person. If you want to check official updates or operating hours, visit the official KL Tower website.

Getting There

Reaching KL Tower can be a bit tricky as there is no direct public transport. Unless you are up for a bit of a walk, the best way to get there is by cab, unless you have your own vehicle. Since we had the Grab vouchers, we decided to take a Grab ride, which cost us around RM 20.

Entrance

Upon arrival, make sure you join the correct ticket line. Otherwise, you might waste unnecessary time in line. Even though we had booked online, we needed physical tickets at the entrance.

In addition, we recommend getting individual tickets rather than a group pass. Individual passes give everyone enough dedicated time inside the attractions!

The Sky Deck Experience

Our adventure began at the stunning Sky Deck. We recommend planning your visit for the evening. As a result, you will enjoy breathtaking sunset views and sparkling night lights across Kuala Lumpur. You get 30 to 60 minutes to walk around the deck and admire the city skyline.

“From the heights of KL Tower, the city unfolds beneth you.”

The Thrilling Sky Box

The highlight of visiting KL Tower is the famous Sky Box. This glass-bottomed box extends directly out from the Sky Deck. Walking over the clear floor feels thrilling and slightly scary!

However, prepare your phone camera before stepping inside. Staff members take photos quickly, so having your own camera ready saves you money!

Final Tips & Nearby Day Trips

  • Ticket Booking: Check online platforms like Klook for the best deals and additional perks like Grab vouchers.
  • Time Your Visit: Aim for an evening to enjoy both daylight and twilight views of the city.
  • Individual Passes: Opt for individual tickets rather than group passes to avoid timing issues at the Sky Box.
  • Photos: Have your camera ready or ask someone to take your pictures to make the most of your brief time in the Sky Box.
  • One-Time Visit: Given the nature of the experience, it’s best to make the most of your visit as it’s likely a one-time adventure.
